CORNING — The Corning baseball team picked up a 9-3 win over Ithaca on Thursday morning at Corning Community College.

“Kyle Miller pitched a great game,” Corning coach Eric Kiss said. “WE played solid defense and hit the ball well. We are getting better with each game. These boys love the game and eat it up.

“We have faced two tough Ithaca lefties and found a way to score some runs. We head to Ithaca tomorrow for our third game this week against a very solid Ithaca team.”

Miller worked six innings, striking out nine and allowing six hits and three runs, two earned. Carter West worked a perfect inning with one strikeout.

Dom Weed hit a home run for Corning and had three RbI.

Connor Miller was 3-for-4 with a run scored and Ryan Price had two hits, with a double, two RBI and two runs scored.

Gavin Walker, Zach Miller, Elijah King, Johnny Graham and Miller all had hits in the game. Kyle Miller and Graham scored runs and King scored three runs, while Reilly Wells had an RBI.
