
Coming back from UCL surgery just six months ago, Owen Stewart was back on the mound for the George Mason baseball team, throwing a shutout inning to start the game.
Stewart was the opener for the game, going one inning against Towson, allowing one walk and striking out one.
Stewart had been out since undergoing surgery.
Last year he made 16 appearances for George Mason. His freshman year, in 2023, he made the NCAA Winston-Salem Regional All-Tournament Team. Against Maryland in the NCAA Winston-Salem Regional he allowed to runs on four hits in a season-high 5 1/3 innings of work as George Mason beat Maryland 11-10. He struck out four, which equaled a season high, and he threw a season-high 103 pitches.
