
Corning graduate Atalyia Rijo played a big role in the highest-ranked series win in program history for No. 12/13 Arkansas on Sunday.
Arkansas took two out of three from No. 2 Florida and Rijo had two hits, with a double and two RBI in the finale.
Arkansas also won the first game of the series, 4-1. Rijo had a hit in that win. In the second game Arkansas was edged 10-7 in nine innings. Rijo had two hits in that game.
Rijo has hits in five of the past six games for Arkansas. The Corning grad is fourth on the team with a .341 average, starting 33 of the team’s 35 games this year. She has a .430 on-base and four home runs with 26 RBI. She has eight doubles.
