CORTLAND — The Notre Dame boys’ basketball team was edged by Dryden 72-69 in the IAC title game at Tompkins Cortland Community College on Thursday night.
Notre Dame trailed 23-16 after one quarter and 42-37 at the half.
The Crusaders trailed by 10 in the third, but went to full-court press and made a big run, getting within 70-69 before Luke Eshelman made two free throws to seal the win for Dryden.
Rocco Sayers led four players in double figures for Notre Dame with 15 points. Gabe Patterson had 12 points, with two threes, and Max O’Connor had 11 with six in the opening quarter, and Finn Schweizer had 10 points.
Landon English had seven for Notre Dame, Pat McCarthy and Caleb White had five points each and Menelik Jenkins had four points.
Peter Nydam had 22 points for Dryden.
