Southern Tier Sports ReportThere were a lot of great performances this week, leading to some tough choices for the athlete of the week honors. In the end, it was Corning’s Cella McLauhglin and Edison’s Zack Crown who are the Southern Tier Sports Report, sponsored by Drake HVAC Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning, Athletes of the Week.
Cella McLaughlin
Corning, girls’ track and field
Won the 55 hurdles in 8.32 and the 300 in 42.60, along with the long jump at 17-feet, 5 3//4-inches in helping to lead the Corning girls to their 11th straight class sectional title.
Zack Crown
Edison, bowling
Shot a 300 game for Edison in a match against Newark Valley. Had a 699 series on the day for the Spartans. Crown also had a 632 series on the week.
