VESTAL — The Elmira girls claimed the STAC Championship at the STAC Tournament at Midway Lanes, while the boys finished second.
The girls shot 1,021, 929 and 982 for a 2,932. They topped runner-up Maine-Endwell (2,866).
The Elmira boys were edged by Waverly by just four pins.
Elmira shot 1,102, 1,071 and 978 for a 3,151. Waverly shot 1,128 (15 pins better the final game) to win by four pins at 3,155.
Madison Smith had the high series for the girls with a 671, shooting 191-245-235 and Madyson Wasicki shot 232-188-223-643, while Bella Wood shot 256-203-179-638.
Evaya Gardner shot 168-144-181-493 and Abbi Hink shot 174-149-164-487.
Trent Belloma had a 299 game on the day and a 716 series. His 299 was the highest game of the day.
Belloma shot 204-299-213-716 and Skylar Shadduck shot 246-207-193-646, while Alex Gublo shot 190-238-210-638.
