PINE VALLEY– The Elmira College Soaring Eagles avenged their third-period collapse from Friday night with a 3-2 overtime win on Saturday night. Shane Haviland '24 was the hero, potting the game-winning goal in the fourth period.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Beavers opened the scoring six minutes into the first period as Ian Driscoll got one by Kyle Curtin '26.
Ryan Reifler '24, scored to tie the game later in the first. Reifler now has 11 points in seven games since the calendar turned to 2025. Chance Gorman '24 and Nathan Young '25 picked up the helpers on Reifler's tally.
A power-play from Myles Yearwood '28 put the Soaring Eagles ahead 2-1 in the middle frame. Yearwood's second goal of the year was set up by Tyler Schwindt '26 and Matt York '26.
With about six minutes left in the second period, a shot-handed goal for the Beavers tied the game at two apiece.
Following a scoreless third, the game leaked into overtime where Haviland sent the Beavers packing thanks to an assist from Gorman.
Curtin finished with a monstrous 42 saves for the Purple & Gold while Mason Rosado turned away 19 in the blue for the Beavers.

The Soaring Eagles open Athletics Alumni Weekend on Friday, Jan. 31 with a home matchup against the Seahawks of Salve Regina. Opening puck drop is slated for 7:00 p.m.
