Southern Tier Sports ReportCORNING — The Corning Hawks girls’ basketball team picked up a 53-39 win over Ithaca on Friday night.
Makayla Evans had 15 points and six assists and Char Starns had 16 points, nien boards and three assists.
Deanna Shaddock had nine points, five boards and two assists and Grace Kio finished with seven rebounds.
“Our team continues to put in the time and effort toward improvement,” Corning coach Julie Pierce said. “We are beginning to turn the corner and expect to compete moving forward. Next play mentality puts the focus on UE next Thursday.”
