HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS' BASKETBALL: HORSEHEADS FALLS TO STATE'S TOP-RANKED TEAM (2025-01-18)

HORSEHEADS — The Horseheads girls’ basketball team took on the top-ranked Class AA team in the state rankings on Saturday, falling to HIlton 74-41.

Megan Wolf led Horseheads with 17 points and played strong defense on St. Bonaventure commit Mallory Heise. Heise finished with 22.

Wolf had nine, including two threes and 3-for-4 from the line in the opening quarter as Horseheads trailed just 19-14 after one quarter. Wolf had four threes in the game.

Jordyn Gross had seven points and Kaylyn Cook had six points, on a pair of threes.

Samantha Bonnell had three points and Maddie Ribble, Sadie Gustin and Emma Kamas all had two points in the game.
