STAC BOYS' BASKETBALL: HORSEHEADS AVENGES EARLIER LOSS BY RALLYING PAST ELMIRA (24 PHOTOS) (2025-01-16)

HORSEHEADS — It was 10 days ago that the Horseheads boys’ basketball team lost by over 30 points as Elmira.

On Thursday they avenged that loss in a big way, topping the Express 65-57 on Thursday night.

Elmira jumped out to an 18-9 lead in the first quarter, but Horseheads closed the first half strong, going up 29-25 at the break.

Horseheads outscored Elmira 17-11 in the third quarter to take a 10-point lead into the final quarter.

Mason Holloway finished with 24 points in the game. He had three threes. He had seven points in the third and eight in the fourth. He had at least four points in each quarter.

Jack Fesetch had 23 points, with five threes. He had three threes and 11 points in the second quarter. He hit four fourth-quarter free throws to help seal the win.

John Durr had 10 points, five in the fourth and eight in the second half.

Keagan Zeller had four points and Miles Woodhouse and Griffin Stevens finished with two points each.

James Harris had 17 points, with two threes for the Express. he had seven in the fourth, hitting a three and four free throws.

Anthony Kitching had 16 points for Elmira, seven in the opening quarter and Julian Colon had 11 points.

Daeshaun Harris finished with four points and Byron Hall Jr. finished with three points.

Zyquise Matias, Jha’Micque Bell and Malaki Banks each finished with two points for Elmira.
