
Elmira graduate Eli Thomas and the Minnesota State football team had their season conclude on Saturday with an 18-16 loss to Winona State.
Thomas, a graduate student, had two tackles in the game for Minnesota State.
The long journey for Thomas from Elmira, to Lackawanna Junior College, to UConn, to Minnesota State, which included overcoming a stroke and three ACL surgeries, resulted in a strong final collegiate season at the Division II level.
Thomas finished the year with 40 tackles, including 2.5 tackles for a loss. He had an interception and a pass breakup on the year.
He had a season-high seven tackles in October against Upper Iowa and he had his interception in September against Bemidji State.
Minnesota State finishes the season with a 6-5 record.
