Southern Tier Sports Report
CORNING — The Corning Hawks got a hat trick from Taylor Freelove as they beat Baldwinsville 3-1 on Saturday afternoon.

Freelove scored on a penalty kick, a free kick sand a breakaway in the game.

Corning had eight shots and four corners and Baldwinsville had four shots and two corners.

Ben Hufnagel had three saves for Corning and Baldwinsville had five saves in net.

“The defense had another pretty strong performance,” Corning coach Chad Freelove said. “We had one true breakdown and Baldwinsville took full advantage. We talked prior to the match about taking advantage of the opportunities we had, because with two strong teams there wouldn’t be many.

“The guys played with an ‘All In’ effort all match long. They earned a hard-fought victory against a strong Syracuse area program.”
