CORNING'S ABEL FINISHES AT 153 FOR TWO ROUNDS AT JR. PGA, FINISHING THIRD BEST AMONG N.Y. GOLFERS (2024-07-31)

BETHESDA, MD. — Corning’s Delaney Abel shot an 83 on the second day of the Junior PGA Championship at Congressional.

Abel shot a 69 on the first day and was in the top 10 after day one, she finished with 153 for two rounds.

The cut was 149 with Abel missing by just four shots.

Abel was in good company, as she was just three shots back of Albany’s Kennedy Swedick, who missed the cut at 150. Swedick finished her career with three straight state titles.

Abel was the third highest finisher of any golfer from New York.
