GO FUND ME SET UP FOR HORSEHEADS BOWLING STANDOUT BATTLING HODKINS LYMPHOMA (2024-07-30)
Southern Tier Sports Report
Horseheads bowling standout Michael Rennells was recently forced out of the National Junior Gold Bowling Championships as he is battling cancer.
The Horseheads standout was diagnosed with Stage IV Hodkins Lymphoma.
A Go Fund Me has been set up to help the family with the medical costs.
Rennells, who hopes to still continue bowling soon, noticed a lump in his left clavicle region and had pain in his back and leg during a bowling tournament in March.
After a visit to the motor and lab work and scans the Horseheads bowler was referred to the Golisano Children’s Hospital in Rochester where an MRI revealed a Tarlov cyst in his lower lumbar region.
Rennells was eventually forced to withdraw from the Junior Gold Bowling Championships in Detroit, Michigan. A biopsy of the lymph nodes in his neck led to a diagnosis of Stage IV Nodular Sclerosis Hodkin’s Lymphoma.
