HIGH SCHOOL BOYS' TRACK AND FIELD: CORNING BOYS CAPTURE STAC CHAMPIONSHIP (24 PHOTOS) (2024-05-15)

JOHNSON CITY — The Corning boys topped Ithaca for the team title at the STAC Championships on Wednesday afternoon.

The Hawks won the title at 94.5 followed by Ithaca at 77. Horseheads was sixth at 41 points and Elmira also competed in the meet.

In the 3200 Corning’s Charles Warner was second in 10:07.75 followed by teammate Nicholas Ferratella in 10:16.61. Horseheads’ Gavin Hornsby was ninth in 10:43.97.

The Hawks won the 1600 relay in 3:30.98.

Corning’s Nathaniel Jennings won the pole vault at 14-feet followed by teammate Alex Kolpien at 13-feet.

Joey Biviano of Horseheads was fifth in the shot put at 41-feet, 1-inch.

Reilly Wells of Corning was seventh in the long jump at 19-feet, 9 3/4-inches followed by Elmira’s Nasir Bradford at 19-feet, 9-inches.

Dylan Rose of Corning was second din the high jump at 5-feet, 10-inches.

Horseheads’ Connor Trimber was sixth in the triple jump at 39-feet, 7-inches and Corning’s Eddie Jiang was eighth at 38-feet, 6 1/2-inches.

Freddie Collins of Corning was second in the discus at 132-feet, 8-inches and Horseheads’ Noah Rangstrom was fifth at 124-feet, 4-inches.

Aidan Kahabka of Corning was second in the 3000 steeplechase in 10:31.80 and Samuel Kirk of Corning was fourth in 11:15.70. Horseheads’ Dominick Marino was eighth in 11:42.10.

Corning was third in the 3200 relay in 8:42.01 and Horseheads was sixth in 9:09.30.

Horseheads’ Carlo Cipollo won the 110 hurdles in 15.34 and Corning’s Jacob Hufnagel was eighth in 17.61. Nolan Cruise of Horseheads was ninth in 17.87.

Horseheads won the 400 relay in 43.06 and Corning was ninth in 45.85.

Corning’s DJ Cornfield was second in the 1600 in 4:26.14 and Kiran Gulati of Horseheads was fourth in 4:31.51. Corning’s Gregory Homa was seventh in 4:38.16 and Nicholas Kowal of Horseheads was 10th in 4:44.37.

Matt Mucci of Horseheads was fourth in the 400 in 52.18 and Corning’s Wyatt McDonald was fifth in 53.18 followed by teammate Dexter Badger in 53.69.

Cruise was sixth in the 400 hurdles in 1:03.16.

Cornfield won the 00 in 1:58.68 and Nathan Zhou of Horseheads was eighth in 2:06.01.

Ta’hjay Molina-Bacome of Elmira was ninth in the 200 in 23.77.
