MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — The Notre Dame baseball team was edged 7-6 by Cazenovia at the Cal Ripken Experience in Myrtle Beach.
It was a 2-2 game after five, but Cazenovia scored two in the sixth.
Notre Dame took a 6-4 lead with two in the seventh, but Cazenovia tied things in the bottom of the inning and won it in the eighth.
Alex Daugherty had two hits, with a triple, an RBI and three runs scored and Jahmez Boyd and Luke Richards each had two hits. Boyd had an RBI and a run scored.
Jahmeire Keyser had a hit, an RBI and a run scored.
Logan Meisner and Sebastian Capriotti each had RBI and Anthony Barkley scored a run.
Daugherty worked 5 1/3 innings, striking out four and allowing six hits. Boyd worked 2 1/3 innings, striking out one and allowing four hits.
