COLLEGE TRACK AND FIELD: LOCALS FIND SUCCESS FOR UB TRACK AND FIELD (2024-02-07)

A number of area athletes achieved personal bests recently for the Buffalo track and field team.

Corning grad Chloe Freeland (5:18.25) set her personal best in the mile, going two seconds faster than her previous best at the Akron Invite.

In the 5000 meters Notre Dame grad Alexandra Crowley ran a personal best in 19:05.69.

On the men’s side Corning grad Gabe Cornfield ran a personal best in the mile with a 4:25.52, while fellow Corning grad Matt Gensel broke the 15 minute barrier for the first time taking fourth in the men’s 5000 meters in 14:57.48.

At the Kent State Doug Raymond National Qualifier two area grads had top 10 finishes in the men’s heptathlon. Horseheads graduate Noah Ruffer was fifth with a score of 4,200 and Corning grad Brady Hughes was seventh at 3,793.

Corning grad Brianna Urban also runs for Buffalo.
