Southern Tier Sports ReportThe Horseheads cheer team won the STAC Game Day Championship over the weekend, racking up a score of 89.40 to win the meet out of the 13 schools competing.
Horseheads won with the 89.40, while Union-Endicott was second at 88, followed by Maine-Endwell at 85.90 and Chenango Valley at 85.50.
Elmira had a score of 70.40.
Next up is sectionals on Sunday, Oct. 29 at Union-Endicott. The winner from sectionals from each class will move onto states at the Binghamton Arena on Nov. 5.
Elmira is in Class A with Binghamton and Ithaca and Horseheads is in B with Maine-Endwell, Union-Endicott, Vestal and Johnson City.
