Elmira’s Johnny Beecher is now officially an NHL hockey player.
On Monday NHL teams had to finalize their rosters for the start of the season, and Beecher was named to the final roster for the Boston Bruins. Barring any trades or additions to the roster Beecher will be on the roster when the season begins this week.
The regular season begins for the Bruins on Wednesday when they host the Chicago Blackhawks.
The current depth chart has Beecher as the team’s fourth-line center. He is listed as wearing number 19 this season.
In the preseason Beecher had a goal and an assist for the Burins. He played over 50 minutes in the preseason.
A first-round pick by the Bruins in 2019, 30th overall, Beecher played last year in the AHL, after finishing his college career at Michigan the year before then finishing that year in the AHL.
