Southern Tier Sports ReportELMIRA — The Elmira volleyball team picked up a hard-fought five-set win over Ithaca at home.
The Express won the first game 25-19, fell 20-25, then came back to win a tough 29-27 third set. Ithaca won the fourth set 25-9, before Elmira won the fifth set 15-6.
Madi Jones was 19-for-20 serving with nine aces and she had 14 kills.
Addy Chorney had six kills and was 16-for-18 serving with four aces.
Austyn Johnson was 11-for-11 from the service line with two aces and Ava Dennard had six digs, while Camille Sconiers had five blocks.
Lily Cornacchio finished with 19 assists.
