TIOGA CENTER — For the second straight tournament the Corning Hawks faced Lansing in the final, this tie with the Hawks coming away with the title at the Tioga Tournament.

Corning beat Oneonta 25-13 in the semifinals and Lansing 25-19 in the final. Lansing had beaten Trumansburg 25-19 in the semifinals.

Corning had an 8-0 mark in pool play to cap a perfect day. They beat Chenango Valley 25-14, 25-16, Dryden 25-11, 25-17, Lansing 27-25 and Spencer 25-15, 25-14.

Lansing was second in the pool at 6-2, CV was third at 3-5, Dryden was 2-6 and Spencer was 1-7.

In the other pool Trumansburg was 7-1 to go first, Oneonta was 5-3, Candor was 4-4, Tioga was 3-5 and South Seneca was 1-7.

Maddie Wood had 11 points, two aces, two digs, six kills and 30 assists for Corning and Izzy Moon had 15 kills and two assists.

Lindsay Stratton had 16 points, five aces, two digs, 12 kills and a block.

Hannah Smith had 24 points, nine aces, six digs, 20 kills, three assists and three blocks.

Gracee Work had 16 points, seven aces, six digs, 17 kills and two blocks and Sam Molingou had 16 points, two aces, 15 kills and seven blocks.

Piper Emmick had 12 points, three aces, six digs, two kills and 26 assists and Emma Barron had six aces, three kills and a block.
