HIGH SCHOOL BOYS' BAKSETBALL: HORSEHEADS FALLS TO ITHACA, LEAVES STAC WEST IN FLUX (2023-02-07)

ITHACA — The Ithaca Little Red rallied in the fourth quarter and topped Horseheads 73-64 to cause some real chaos in the STAC West Standings.

With Corning’s loss to Elmira on Tuesday the Blue Raiders had a chance to win the division with a victory against the Little Red. Now, with Ithaca’s win, things are in flux.

Ithaca plays Union-Endicott on Thursday. If they win they claim the division. If they lose then there is a four-way tie atop the division.

Ithaca led 25-16 after one quarter as Luke Little got off to a fast start with 10 first-quarter points for the Little Red.

It was 39-30 Ithaca at the half, but a big third quarter by the Blue Raiders had them up 53-50 after three as they scored 23 third-quarter points.

Ithaca came back in the fourth and scored 23 points to get the win.

Jeremy Truax had 29 for Horseheads to lead all scorers. Amauri Truax, Alex Daugherty and Jack Fesetch all had nine points for Horseheads.

Jackson Cook had five points and Jonny Durr had three points for the Blue Raiders.

Little had 24 for Ithaca and Justin Yearwood had 15 points.

Jonathan Ostrom had 12 for Ithaca and Kaleb Kerfoot had 10 points. William Holmes had seven points and Trevor Clark had five for the Little Red.
