Southern Tier Sports ReportOWEGO — Donavan Smith is a STAC champion, and the Elmira wrestling team finished fifth at the STAC Championships on Saturday.
Elmira had a team score of 109.5. Horseheads won at 194.
Smith won the 152 pound final with a 17-2 technical fall win over Lucas Mosher of Horseheads in the final.
J.T. Guyette finished fourth at 118. He dropped a 1-0 match to Carl Harold of Susquehanna Valley in the third-place match.
Reese Ryder Depadua was fifth at 102, getting a win by tecnical fall in the fifth place match. Liam Ogden took fifth at 118, winning 2-0 in the fifth-place match.
Joey Mastrantonio took fifth at 126, winning an 11-0 major decision in the fifth-place match.
Sam Brenen-Buseck won 5-3 in the fifth-place match at 160 to finish fifth. Zahkye Jenkins finished fifth at 189, winning 7-3 in the fifth-place match.
Ethan Hernandez took fifth at 215, getting a pin in 1:56 in the fifth-place match.
