
There were more All-American performances by the Corning Hawks at New Balance Nationals on Friday.
The Corning boys distance medley relay finished third in 10:09.05 with a team of Ashton Bange, Jack Gregorski, Gyasi Ruffin and Gabe Cornfield. The time was a school and section record.
The same four were state and federation champions in the 3200 relay last week, and Gregorski was the state champion in the 3200 last week, while finishing third at nationals on Thursday in the 5,000 meters.
Zuri Ruffin finished sixth in the freshman long jump at 20-feet, 11 1/4-inches to earn freshman All-America honors while Sophia ReSue was fifth in the freshman high jump to place with a height of 5-feet, 1 3/4-inches.
The Corning girls took seventh in the distance medley relay championship in 12:21.65 with a team of Sarah Lawson, Faithe Ketchum, Julia Hluck and Lauren Gerow.
Leila Ianovici finished 21st in the freshman 400 hurdles in 1:11.15.
