H.S. BASEBALL: TREVOR MORRELL HITS TWO HOME RUNS IN ONE INNING TO LEAD ELMIRA TO WIN (2022-05-16)

BINGHAMTON — Trevor Morrell homered twice in the same inning, one a grand slam, and Elmira scored 17 runs in the third inning on their way to a 28-3 win over Binghamton on Wednesday.

The Express scored in each of the first six innings in the game, and they scored 17 runs in the third, the most any team has scored in an inning this year.

Morrell hit both of his home runs in the third inning, driving in seven runs, six in that third inning, including a grand slam for his second home run of the day. He scored three times for Elmira.

Jack Carozzoni had four hits, with a double, three RBI and five runs scored and Ben Rhode had two hits, four RBI and three runs scored.

Aedan Palmer had a double, three RBI and two runs scored and Brendan Stowell had a double and scored a run.

Da’mon Jackson had two hits, two RBI and three runs scored for the Express.

Jack Stemerman had two RBI and scored four runs and Ryan Ess had three RBI and a run scored. Alex Mosher had an RBI and Bobby Cavalier scored two runs, while Mike Palmer scored three runs.

Brady Morrell scored a run and Ashton Knoll had an RBI in the game.

Bryce Mashanic struck out six over four innings, allowing three hits, for Elmira and Tim Miller went one inning, allowing one run on no hits. Mike Palmer worked two innings, striking out four and allowing three hits and no runs.
