ELMIRA HEIGHTS — The Elmira Spartans got a hat trick from Eliza Crandall as they picked up a 5-0 win over Newfield on Tuesday night.
Aurora Parlo started the scoring for Edison just 2:31 into the game off a Crandall assist.
Crandall then had three straight goals at 17:42, 21:42 and 28:30 to make it 4-0 at the half.
Parlo scored at 44:55 of the second half to cap the scoring.
Edison had 17 shots and three corners and Newfield had four shots and two corner kicks.
Kaylynn Tarby had four saves for the Spartans in goal and Egypt Smith-Henderson finished with nine saves for Newfield.
“A solid team effort tonight,” Edison coach Kevin Weber said. “We were able to create scoring chances through a variety of channels, and posted another strong shutout. We’ll look to continue with this positive momentum and attempt to avenge another early season loss in our final game Friday versus Dryden.”
The Spartans have won three of their past four games.
