SECTION 4 SOFTBALL: ELMIRA CELEBRATES SENIOR NIGHT WITH VICTORY (24 PHOTOS) (2025-05-08) Southern Tier Sports Report ELMIRA — The Elmira Express softball team celebrated senior night with a 14-0 win over Southern Cayuga on Thursday.
The Express celebrated their five seniors before the day as Sonny Taft, Addisyn Chorney, Ava Sherman, Kaelynn Thomas and Ryleigh Ogden were recognized on the day.
Madison Smith had a home run and a double in the win Thursday, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs scored.
Chorney and Marley Devlin had doubles for Elmira. Chorney had four RBI and a run scored and Devlin scored a run.
Sherman, Ava Cornacchio, Taft, Cate Lambert and Ogden all had hits in the victory. Sherman scored a run and Cornacchio scored three times. Lambert had an RBI and a run scored and Taft had two RBI and three runs scored. Ogden had an RBI and a run scored and Devlin and Madelyn Cavalier each scored runs in the game.
