COLLEGE MEN'S BASKETBALL: MARSHALL WITH A HUGE GAME FOR ALFRED AGAINST GENESEO, HAVING BIG SEASON (2021-11-27)

Horseheads graduate Brewster Marshall had a dominant game to help lead Alfred past Geneseo 83-74 this week.

Marshall had 24 points on 10-for-14 shooting, including 2-of-3 from three-point land. He had a double-double adding 12 rebounds, along with three steals, two blocks and two assists.

The senior from Horseheads is having a huge start to the year.

He’s scored in double figures every game this year, and has gone over 2-0 points twice in the past three games. He has three straight games with at least 12 rebounds and has double-doubles in each of the past three games.

Against Delhi he had 13 points and 14 boards, while he had 23 points and 14 rebounds, along with two steals and two assists against St. Lawrence.

In a game against Ithaca he had 10 points and five boards, with four blocked shots and two assists and he had 12 points and 10 rebounds with three blocks and two assists against Hilbert.

In the opener against Brockport he had 15 points and seven boards.

Marshall averages 16.2 points a game this year and 10.3 rebounds a contest, and he’s blocked 10 shots in six games.

Alfred is 5-1 on the year, with their only loss coming 69-65 in overtime against St. Lawrence.

Prior to the regular season Alfred scrimmaged against St. Bonaventure, who is ranked 16th in the nation in Division I. Marshall had seven points and four rebounds, on 3-for-5 shooting in that scrimmage.
