YOUTH SOFTBALL: HORSEHEADS FIFTH GRADER TO PLAY IN YOUTH SOFTBALL ALL-AMERICAN GAMES (2021-10-18)
SOUTHERN TIER SPORTS REPORTAmelia Nelson, a Horseheads student, was nominated to play in the Youth Softball All-American Games.
Nelson will be participating with players from all of the United States, this December, in Panama Beach, Florida.
Nelson has been playing softball since the age of eight in local recreation leagues and all-stars. She recently became a member of the Fury Fastpitch ’12 travel team.
Nelson attends the fifth grade at Horseheads Intermediate School. She also enjoys art, snowboarding and being a member of the First Lego League. She is thankful to her cousin, Jenna Elwood, for contributing her expertise in helping Nelson train for softball.
