EDISON — The Edison boys’ basketball team opened the season at home in a non-league matchup on Tuesday, falling to Southern Cayuga 79-34.

George Smith had seven points in the first quarter on his way to a game-high 11 points for the Spartans in the game.

Jayden Cota had fie points and Blake Cobb finished and Kyle Walborn each had four points in the game.

Evan Bush and Landon Allen each finished with three points for the Spartans and Riley Cobb had two points, while Talon LaPlante finished with a point.

Brandon Vanacore had 20 points for Southern Cayuga, all of them coming in the final three quarters. Isaac Brozon finished with 19 points for Southern Cayuga.
