CORNING — The Elmira boys and girls bowling teams each picked up 4-1 wins over Horseheads on Monday in the season opener for both teams at Crystal Lanes.

For the girls Elmira shot 800, 755 and 877 for a 2,432 and Horseheads shot 692, 937 and 752 for a 2,381.

Bella Wood led Elmira with a 195-182-169-546 and Madi Smith shot 170-144-218-532. Hayley Avery shot 112-156-199-467 and Abby Hink shot 150-161-151-462, while Abby Cunningham shot 173-112-140-425.

Emily Huntley led Horseheads with a 170-193-179-542, while Kenzie Minor shot 149-243-126-518. Jen Mattoon shot 143-180-161-484 and Maddie Jerzak shot 123-177-146-446, while Kaylee Welty shot 107-144-140-391.

The Elmira boys shot 938, 991 and 989 for a 2,918, while Horseheads shot 996, 964 and 838 for a 2,798.

Elmira was led by Trent Belloma who shot 268-217 and 228 for a 713 and Alex Gublo shot 162-213-215-590, while Skylar Shaddock shot 178-210-194-582. Alex Smith shot 174-205-162-541. Ty Bolt shot 156-146 for 302 over two games, while Frank D’Angelo shot 195 for one game.

Michael Rennells led Horseheads with a 253-213-192-658, while Andrew Bowman shot 205-196-186-587. Ayden Tito shot 212-160-189-561 and Tony Funair shot 190-194-124 and Zach Kathan shot 136-201-147-484.

In JV action the Horseheads girls shot 609, 589 and 624 for a 1,822, while Elmira shot 487, 517 and 604 for a 1,508 with Horseheads winning 5-0.

Lexi Zimmer shot 133-124-174-431 for Horseheads and Hadey Stone shot 103-131-131-365, while Olivia Rightnire shot 131-122-105-358. Taylor Cole shot 119-113-106-338 and Alex Cole shot 123-99-108-330.

In boys JV action Horseheads shot 770, 827, 770 for a 2,367 to win 5-0 as Elmira shot 658, 767 and 759 for a 2,184.
