HIGH SCHOOL CROSS COUNTRY: MORDVINOVA WINS GIRLS' RACE AT OWEGO INVITE; 4 LOCALS FINISH TOP SIX (13 PHOTOS) (2022-09-25)

OWEGO — Elmira’s Ana (Vicky) Mordvinova won the girls’ large-school title, and had the fastest overall time of any girl at the Owego Invite on Saturday.

Elmira finished with three girls among the top six finishers on the day.

Mordvinova won in 18:23.8 and Ella Devlin was fourth in 19:33.5 and Payton Ross was sixth in 20:22.4.

Mariah Faucett was 51st in 25:45.2 and Be a McCarthy was 54th in 27:51.6.

Elmira finished fifth on the girls side with 112 points.

For the boys Caleb Belanger was fourth in 16:59.7.

Andrew Degnan Jr. was 32nd in 19:10.7 followed by Jha’Micque Bell in 19:13.2.

Nicholas Bowes was 47th in 20:47.4 and Abbey Johnson was 55th in 22:51.9. Duane Nichols was 57th in 23:39.6 followed by Ayden Coleman in 58th in 23:48.8.

As a team the Express were seventh with 161 points.

In the girls’ modified large-school race Taylor Degnan finished third in 12:08.2, Jayden Mann was 10th in 13:201 and Hadleigh Bower was 17th in 13:54.4 followed by Aubrey Stewart in 13:56.7 and Edyn Clune in 14:06.6.

In the boys’ large-school modified race James Lovell was 12th in 10:57.
