HIGH SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL: CORNING RALLIES, BUT FALLS TO ITHACA IN FIVE SETS (2022-09-23)

CORNING — Down 2-0 against Ithaca, the Corning hawks won the next two sets to tie things up, but in the end the Little Red proved to be a little too much in the fifth set.

Unbeaten Ithaca won the first two sets 25-17, 25-16, before the Hawks fought back with 25-18, 25-23 wins. In the final set Ithaca edged the Hawks 17-15.

Jenna DiNardo had six points, two aces, two kills, 27 assists, a block and 18 digs and Olivia Keegan had nine points, 18 kills and 31 digs.

Lindsay Stratton had nine points, two aces, seven kills and a block and Hannah Smith had six points, an ace, six kills, a block and five digs and Isabelle Moon had four kills and a block.

Ithaca got 17 kills from Cameron Grange and Eden Lewis had 10 kills, while Giana Varma had 11 digs.

Corning won the JV match 25-17, 25-14, 25-17 to stay unbeaten.

Riley Keeler had four aces, nine points and five digs and Evelyn Starts had five kills.

Gracee Work had two points, an ace and five kills and Madison Wood had 11 assists.
