YOUTH BOWLING: AREA BOWLERS HEADING TO JUNIOR GOLD CHAMPIONSHIPS (2022-07-01)

Area bowlers will head to Grand Rapids, Mich. to compete in the Junior Gold Championships on July 15-23.

Bowlers had to qualifying for the tournament at events during the year.

The Gold Championships are an annual national tournament for the top male and female youth bowlers in the Unite States. The Tournament has eight divisions u12 boys, u12 girls, u15 boys, u15 girls, u18 boys, u18 girls and u20 boys and u20 girls.

In the 18u male division Corning’s Joseph Enderle and Cameron Kennedy, along with Waverly’s Zach Vanderpool are competing.

In the 18u female division Horseheads’ Emily Huntley and Hayley Avery of Elmira are competing.

In the 15u division Horseheads’ Michaell Rennells is competing along with three other Section 4 bowlers — Evan O’Hara (Owego), Caiden Lambrecht (Unadilla) and Landon Butenko (Chenango Forks).
