PROFESSIONAL HOCKEY: ELMIRA'S BEECHER SIGNS PRO CONTRACT WITH BRUINS (2022-05-16)

The Boston Burins announced on Monday that they signed Elmira’s Johnny Beecher to a three-year entry-level contract with the team.

The contract has an annual NHL cap hit of $925,000.

Beecher, the 30th overall pick in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft had success with the AHL’s Providence Bruins after leaving Michigan.

Beecher played in nine games for Providence, scoring three goals and notching two assists during his Amateur Tryout Agreement with the team.

Beecher joined Providence after finishing up his third season at Michigan, where the Wolverines fell in the Frozen Four to Denver. Beecher had 19 goals and 20 assists in 81 games in Michigan.
