COLLEGE GOLF: CORNING GRAD TUBBS LEADS MEDAILLE COLLEGE IN MATCH AT ELMIRA (2021-09-16)

ELMIRA — Corning graduate Ben Tubbs made a trip back toward home for a collegiate golf match on Tuesday and he came away with his team’s low score.

Tubbs shot a round of 93 to lead the Medaille College men’s golf team as they met Elmira College at the Elmira Country Club. Tubbs round was the best on his team by six shots.

Playing on the par-72 course Medaille College finished eighth out of the nine teams in the field.

Last week Medaille went to the Grove City Invite and the Corning graduate tied for 34th place overall with a score of 84 (+12).

Tubbs, a freshman, has been the team’s top golfer every match this season. In the opener at PItt-Bradford he finished 20th overall with a round of 80.
