COLLEGE MEN'S BASKETBALL: ELMIRA COLLEGE FALLS TO ST. JOHN FISHER (24 PHOTOS) (2022-01-15)

ELMIRA, N.Y.  – The Elmira College men's basketball team dropped a 79-45 decision on Saturday evening to the Cardinals from St. John Fisher inside Speidel Gymnasium.

After trailing by just nine at halftime, Elmira pulled within three during the second half before Fisher used a 39-14 advantage in the closing frame.
 
Bryan Adams '25 finished the game with 16 points, three rebounds, and three steals for Elmira while Quintel Clements '22 added 15 rebounds.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Fisher opened up the scoring first and took an early 9-2 lead through the first 4:30 of play. After Rashaad Nurse '22 connected on a bucket for Elmira, the Cardinals jumped out to a double-digit lead, one they would hold for the remainder of the half until Harry Ravitz '23 connected on a layup as the clock expired.
 
Trailing 40-31 at the break, the Soaring Eagles shot 37.5% from the floor in the opening frame (12-of-32). Elmira won the turnover battle in the half, forcing 8 compared to 6 for Fisher.
 
In the second, the Cardinals retook command of the game after EC pulled within three points, outscoring Elmira 39-14 in the half on their way to a 79-45 victory.
 
For the game, Elmira was outscored in the paint 46-20, while shooting just 6-of-35 from the floor in the second half.
