Six local wrestlers remain alive at the rugged Windsor Christmas Tournament, and the Horseheads girls play host to one of New York’s best players on the basketball court.

While the Palmer Tournament was canceled this year, the Horseheads girls will still play St. Mary’s out of Lancaster. The two teams were both to have been part of the Palmer Tournament.

The proceeds of the game will be going directly to the Josh Palmer Fund.

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL
ST. MARY’S AT HORSEHEADS, 2 P.M.

The Blue Raiders take on a state-ranked opponent, that features one of the best point guards in the nation. St. Mary’s guard Shay Ciezki is a top 60 recruit nationally, and the No. 10 point guard in the nation according to ESPN. She’s committed to Penn State and averages 33 points a game.

The admission cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children and all proceeds will go to Benefit the Josh Palmer Fund.

The game will be played at the Horseheads Middle School Field House and is a varsity only game.

WRESTLING
HORSEHEADS, CORNING AT WINDSOR TOURNAMENT, 10 A.M.

Three area wrestlers are alive in the semifinals at the annual tournament. Horseheads’ Gannon Johnston and Corning’s Charles Loucks and Ethan Hart are all still alive in the hunt for titles.

Three other wrestlers from Horseheads are still alive in the wrestle-backs as Ryan Massengale, Cael Owen and Cody Dale are all still alive in the tournament.
