HIGH SCHOOL SOFTBALL: NOTRE DAME FALLS ON THE ROAD AT SAYRE (24 PHOTOS) (2024-04-27)

SAYRE, PA. — Notre Dame had a six-run fourth inning, but came up short at Sayre on Saturday, 13-8.

Notre Dame scored two in the first, before Sayre got three in the first, three in the second and two in the third to lead 8-2.

Notre Dame tied things in the top of the fourth with six runs, but Sayre got a run back in the fourth to take the lead and added four runs in the sixth.

Denasia Darrow had two hits, with two RBI and Madison Fargo had a triple, an RBI and two runs scored and Lylie Colunio had a double, an RBI and a run scored.

Kayleigh Ayres and Emily Coseo had hits for Notre Dame. Ayres scored two runs and Coseo and Libby Meisner scored a run in the game.

Layla Sullivan struck out three in 5 1/3 innings and Ayres got two outs, allowing no runs.

Abbie McGaughey hit her first two career home runs for Sayre, driving in six runs. She had three hits in the game.

Rylee Lantz had three hits, two doubles and two runs scored and Olivia Thompson had two hits and scored three runs.

Raegan Parrish struck out nine against two walks in the win.
