HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS' LACROSSE: CORNING EDGED BY VESTAL IN SEASON OPENER (2024-03-28)

CORNING — The Corning Hawks were edged 7-6 by Vestal in overtime in the season opener on Thursday.

Lindsay Casterline had two goals and an assist and Graycie Work had two goals for Corning.

Katerina Strong had a goal and an assists while Kyra Gross had a goal and Riley Keeler had an assist.

Courtney Castellana had 11 saves for Corning.

Meredith Ryan had a hat trick for Vestal and Aubree Winner, Aubrey Crowley, Bailey Page and Reagan Young all had goals for Vestal.

“The game wasn’t too bad considering it was game one for us,” Corning coach Kim McNaney said. “We have things to clean up and we are looking to improve everytime we are together.”
