COLLEGE SOFTBALL: CITES HAS HITS IN FOUR OF PAST FIVE GAMES FOR VILLANOVA (2024-03-27)

Horseheads graduate Tess Cites has hits in four of her past five games, and multiple hits in two of those games for the Villanova softball team.

She had two hits against Providence and against Georgetown, and also single hit games against St. Joseph’s and Georgetown.

She has five RBI in the past two games and had home runs against Providence and Georgetown.

Cites, who was Big East Player of the Year a season ago, is hitting .333 this year with six home runs, 19 RBI, 28 runs scored, four doubles and 19 walks.

Cites is tied for the team lead in batting average, tied for the home run lead on the team, leads the team in hits, is third in RBI, leads in runs scored and has a .487 on-base percentage.

Cites has been among the Big East Leaders in on-base percentage and runs score this year.
